It's no more news that the Nigerian Communications Commision (NCC) has directed all telecommunications operators (MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9Mobile and others) in Nigeria to block all lines who fails to link their National Identity Number (NIN) to their sim card.

How To Link National Identity Number To MTN Number

A 2-weeks ultimatum has been given to all Nigerians to link their NIN to their number(s) or risk been blocked. There has been panick all over social media on how to do so, and here is two method.

HOW TO RETRIEVE YOUR NATIONAL IDENTITY NUMBER (NIN)


To retrieve your NIN 

  • Dial *346# on the sim you enrolled with to get your 11-digit NIN number.
  • You'll be charged N20 for this service, effort to make it free is ongoing.


HOW TO LINK NATIONAL IDENTITY NUMBER (NIN) TO YOUR MTN NUMBER


Step 1

  • Dial *785# on any sim you want to link
  • Type 1 for "Enter your 11-digit NIN" and send
  • Input your 11-digit NIN in the next prompt and send
  • Congratulations you have successfully link your NIN to your mobile number

Step 2

  • Visit mtnonline.com/nin from your browser or
  • Download MyMTN app from Google Playstore
  • Fill the form by inputting your First Name, Last Name, Middle Name, Phone Number, NIN, e-mail address and other required details
  • Click on Submit as soon as you are done.

You have just successfully link your National Identity Number to your MTN number and avoid been blocked or disconnected.
