Three (3) Banks That Allows You To Carry Out Transactions via WhatsApp



Although, WhatsApp pay is yet to be available in Nigeria. The banking systems and methods in Nigeria are now taking a new shape, And many banks like UBA, GTbank, Acess and First Bank have birth initiative by introducing WhatsApp messaging on their digital banking platforms.

In the comfort of your home or office, you can carry out activities such as opening an account, checking balance and other basic functions via WhatsApp with the three aforementioned supported bank. This will play a huge roll in further reducing long queues in banking halls.


UBA Chat Banking

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has earlier created a chatbot banker called Leo who is fully functional on Facebook. This same chat banking feature is set to be fully available to customers on WhatsApp by September 1st, this year.

GTBank Chat Banking

GTbank plans on using the WhatsApp Business solution to attend to the enquires and service request that customers make.

First Bank Chat Banking

First Bank is also set to use the WhatsApp Business app to allow customers complete services like checking their account balance in real time.


These banks are expected to be charged 0.5 cents to 9 cents per message which is about 30 – 35 Naira for sending marketing & customer service messages in a bid to up their income.
